Meet the Band

Stewart Warrender - Accordion

Nackytoosh - Stewart WarrenderScottish Dance music was always around in Stewart's home and he began playing the accordion at the age of 7. Stewart has performed extensively throughout Scotland both as a solo artist and in various bands, nurturing his enthusiasm for composing and arranging.

Stewart has toured Romania and Germany along-side Sheena Wellington, appearing on Romanian TV as well as Grampian TV's Northern Nights; he has also appeared on Japanese TV!

As well as playing in Nackytoosh Stewart is also in demand from local dance groups and plays regularly for both Country Dance and Ceilidh Dance classes and can be found most Sunday afternoons teaching piano accordion at traditional music workshops in Kennoway.

With his own style of dance calling, Stewart can guide you through the dances, or simply recap for the more experienced audiences.

Stephen Hamilton - Guitar

Nackytoosh - Stephen HamiltonStephen has been playing guitar since a very early age and enjoys playing many different styles of music.

He played guitar in the Fife Youth Jazz Orchestra for many years, and both violin and guitar with the Fife Young Fiddlers. He performed at the Millennium Dome as part of Fife's Town Story and recently played in the Youth Theatre's production of "Summer Holiday".

Alongside Nackytoosh Stephen performs with the Napier Guitar Ensemble, and is currently studying for a Bachelor of Music degree at Napier University in Edinburgh.

In his spare time he teaches guitar privately and at Woodmill Community Centre.

Colin Thomson – Bass Guitar

Nackytoosh - Colin ThomsonColin has been playing the guitar for as long as he can remember. He has played in local bands since leaving school and although he plays bass guitar in Nackytoosh he also plays acoustic and electric guitars and banjo. He has accompanied Stewart for the last 8 years and enjoys playing a refreshing style of ceilidh music.

Neil Ferry - Drums

Nackytoosh - Neil FerryNeil was introduced to music through the Violin at age 10. His involvement with the drum-kit, which he began to play at high school, was inevitable due to the influence of his mentor-Grandfather (still gigging at 86!) and his four Uncles, all of whom play drums.

Neil draws on a wide range of influences including Rock, Hip-Hop, Funk, Classical and Jazz – influences drawn from his previous involvements with a string quartet, drumming in a punk-rock band and also playing kit in a variety of jazz ensembles.

Neil is currently studying drum-kit with Gene Calderazo at Birmingham Conservatoire, where he is absorbing yet more knowledge of rhythm and grooves!
